Eita.. !!! nice pics Sipho, and now i know where u got your pendulum cast from... eish and when u hook it properly that piece of lead really gets going with some impressive distance as well.

hi guys,

 

im new to this website.  Watching all these fancy stats for the casting..which brings me to my question...... how do I catch a fish if im throwing a ball?

Ray. Just for the record he was using the ball because he had heard there were big barble in the lake that were stealing the kids cricket balls when they fell in the dam and he was hoping for a pickup on the retrieve

To be serious though he did a number of casts with the ball so the camera's could follow the casting motion in sequence and these sequences were then published in a Fishing Magazine.

He did do a cast with a clipped bait and he put it down at 243m with a 6oz on the ZZiplex

Thisis what it looks like when it goes wrong (They say it's dangerous to try stop the spool)

Leaders have to be used for safety reasons, the lines used in distance casting are very light, no bigger than 0.35mm dependant on the sinker being cast.  If using 0.35 main line would be a 0.80 leader, this is the 175gm setup.

I thought Danny M. was sponsored by Century, seems strange he's casting a Zippy, kind of biting the hand that feeds him.

Imagine what the bait looks like after hitting the water at the end of a 243mtr cast!!!! Not to talk about the fact that the bait must be all dried out after travelling that far LOL
