yes, it works!

We've been to Praia Rosa and the Quinkaka Cliffs all day.

Yesterday, we had Fedu Fernando tag along with newcomer Jared, Cpt Ari and me. Due to calm weather predictions and little swell, Ari rides his Cat on the edge of the foils, 26ft with twin 175 Evinrude EFIs.

leaving the NAUTICO club at 06h30, we arrived at the "Pink Beach" at arround 08h00 flat. Lines went in and in no time we were tangled in fishing nets... which would happen once again and always takes valuable fishing time..

Eventually, we would find our rythm and commence with nice Corvina, before Fernando, who was restlessly firing his stick into the breakers from the Cats bow section, hooked into a big "whole" in the surface... fish on! As we thought of more corvina.... we just realisied after a hard tug, that it was in fact a heftz 25-30 lbs bara... hooked in the sticks tail hook, the big boy managed one extra role by the boat to break the single hook out of its mouth...

... it was'nt to be the only big fish that got away yesterday...

But we are all smiles anyway

We had a covina for everyone, a Cob each, a decent baracuda too, Fernando took a juicy Jack Crevalle and I tackled a smallish Cubera "Pargo". I recon the tally looks decent enough and as the learning curve got steeper thanks to Fernandos presence, the loss of lures and decimation of wire leaders could be contained...

Guess my comrads of yesterday's freezer run are down with pneumonia... well, I took a stroll down "Paleo" beach and found some nice Carcharias today.

nice teeth Pargo Man!! I found a lot in the south but only fragmented carcharias as they were on the upper layers and damaged due to erosion. Also got tiger, and many unidentified smaller teeth (I think whaler shark species) and 1 particular tooth that I have no idea!

They just found the biggest marine reptile in history on your beach

I think the researcher got curious from seing a big shark that was eaten by a predator, and when he looked for the predator there it was a 10 meter long marine reptile.

Concerning the "saurophile" son of mine, he enjoyed his birthday presents. The shark teeth will be wood-frame and hung on the wall. The young man is trilingual and keen in research. He's recently reading this stuff:

The Brazilian find I would guess was not on our secluded stretch of Kwanza Southern Banks, but perhaps around the "Onza" or "Miradouro" beaches, where one can actually drive down to the beach. At leats I did'nt stumble over reptiles the last four visits to Paleo-Praia ;-)
