This was caught in the lagoon in front of our staff house I used light tackel which was

a small coffee grinder with 2.00 kg line a small ball sinker, and a bass rod very thin tip,the bait I used was a worm that looks like a wonder worm and coral worm cross,it put up a good fight on that light tackel,I aslo want to see if I can freeze some of that worm and bring it back with me...flipping good bait.

They are a pretty looking fish and fight nicelly for there size don't they? I can only imagine how pristine the coastline would be around Angola?

Yes they are a member of the bream family, over this way they are found all over the South eastern Coast and typically grow a lot larger than normal bream which predominantly are an estuary species.

The smaller model we call Pinky Snapper, anything bigger than 50odd cm is clasified as a Snapper.

Beautiful fish. Please find out if your bosses need someone to do odd jobs on the rig. I'm only prepared to work for 30 mins a day though as it looks like there will be more pressing things to do.:D What strength handline are you using to control the beasts?

That fish loogs like something I have seen come of the Protea banks (deep sea) and funny enough they call them protea bream, have seen them up to 5kg

Wolly-Chop,

Hand line used is the good old 15-20 kg line, just wear gloves keep the fish head up and bob your uncle....to work here you'll have to part with that piece of fluff behind your head....( LOL LOL LOL LOL ) and will have to work at least 10-12 hrs a day,we only fish when there is nothing for us to do like when they drilling ahaed and all my equipment is good to go,then its "FISH ON "time......
