Hey guy's ben to Shongweni a couple of time's now and it seem's that the fish just dont want to eat. . . . . Why's it such a hard dam to fish, to much human activity, to much natural or manmade food sources ? ? The specimen angler's seem to do well for some reason. . . But convetional is dead. . . Or is there some thing i'm doing drasticly wrong. . . .

Ps. For those that fish it often what flavor's, dip's etc work best at the moment i have Fx, Tjop tjop, gotcha, Vanila, peanut oil, banana. . .
Help please?

As far as conventional fishing goes at Shongweni, i have no clue. A mate of mine is there now fishing specimen/mousetrap. He has been sending me pics of some nice fish 10kg+ him & his wife have been getting this session. All i know is fresh plain tigernuts work there.
Otherwise we are planning a trip to Albert Falls next month, you welcome to join us. Good fun there, average 3-4kg, my max there is a 6.5kg common. Will come see you and maybe make a plan for an Albert session.

Hey boet, i'm siting here at Shongweni since 5 this morning, carp jumping every where but not biting. . . .
I met your friend, his wive got a nice one this morning of 8kg. . . And he told me they ben geting good fish but all on boilie's up to 12kg. . . .

I think it's time i start Specimin as the wait is worth it. . . Beeeg fish. . . C u soon Mark. .

My personal experience is that it takes a while to get fish on the bite, i'm talking 2 days plus. I've only fished conventional at Shongweni, but have begun dabbling in specimen with limited success on other waters.

Shongweni definately does produce though, i've got my PB for both carp (14kg) and barbel there. You've already got FX which is a good start, i also use HoneyGlow which seems to be the most effective, that and bunspice floaties!!!!

I'm going to Inanda for the weekend for my first fishing trip on the season, will see how it goes!!!

And any body that has GPS mark for bank angling at Inanda i'd apreciate it imensly. . .
