I was chatting to miles about those. I believe shimano isn't interested in bringing them in. I believe there is one on its way to me! ;)

Have some that I brought in and was copied by a friend.

Def not a trolling lure. Can only cast them. Anything over 3 knots and they jump out of the water.

Very nice action. Close to that of a cedar plug. Just faster.

Hi Guys - Have phoned all the shops in the book and have found some Waxwings at Somerset Sport, but only in light weights and at Big Catch in colours not suited for tropical waters.

Any advice on shops stocking Waxwing lures in sizes 1.5 ounce or bigger would be much appreciated !!

Thanks for helping out on this request, much appreciated!! Glad that somebody on Sealine spotted them.

I got sorted at Solly's, they have the small ones as well as the 1 1/2 ounce in various colours.

It does not look like the agents brought the larger sizes into the country.

The shops are only now starting to order , there will be the bigger sizes available soon , as well as a heavy version of the vengeance rod specifically to use for targeting kob on leadheads .

Hi Tackle Whore – thanks for the feedback. Sounds like you have some inside info – please let us know when the larger size Waxwings becomes available (and where).

On the subject of Shimano rods – would you know if the Shimano Lesath spinning rods are available locally (in RSA)?
