Shimano Torium 30

My fishing friend is buying a new Shimano Torium 30, what he would like to know is how much braid can this reel hold?

Gatorbraid - 48lb, 0.21mm is what he will be spooling his reel with.

He wants at least 200m for his mono line top up, Double X (Hi-Vis) 0.47mm.

Your help would be greatly appreciated if you own the above reel.

Hi Guys sorry for the hijack.

@davebatista have you tested the breaking strain of your bully braid?
The reason I am asking is when I had my torium serviced by Enigma we tested the braid with various knot and the breaking strain never proved to be above 32lbs. I dunno if I got a bad batch or what, but u definitely isn't 48lbs. Just some food for thought.

I have 600m, 0.26mm 48lb Bully Braid on my Trini30A, it handled both the blacktip sharks I caught this year,catspaw no problem. 32lb or 48lb!!!

Make no mistake it works. I pulled a few big bronzes and neither the braid nor the suffix synergy gave me any issues. I just thought its an interesting point to make regarding the braid.

@Katot, ek het klaar my nuwe speelding gespool met 50lbs hmp. Dis n flipping nice braid teen n awesome prys. Buiten dit gee Craig nog baie goeie diens ook. Sal hom met liefde weer ondersteun.

Jip, ek vertrou daai HMP flippen baie. Blerrie lekker braid teen n baie goeie prys. En die 8 strand is vir my een van die beter casting braids.

Ek het nog nie die 8 strand probeer nie maar sal him ingedagte hou as ek weer my sargus moet spool...hoe is sy abrasion resistance?

Man soos meeste braids is hy maar nie lief vir klip nie. Maar hy gooi soos n bom en is flippen sterk.
