Hi Guys,

A friend of mine bought this rod on Sat, it is a 12 foot rod, excellent quality rod, very light, thin butt. It has a adjustable reel seat. trigger grip. this is a beautiful rod. We went casting at a field yesterday, and you are able to cast 100 metres without real effort(with a 6 ounce sinker)

Rod does not feel balanced though, you can however buy 'counter balancing weights' which gets fitted to the but end of rod.

My question is, is this just a spinning kind of rod, or can one target nice edibles with, anyone heard/tested this rod before?

Rod was tested with a Torium 20,

I have no personal experience with the rod. It gets good reviews on Fishing Forums based in the USA. There are models for both spinning and multiplier reels. Quite pricey - seen some at Kingfisher in DBN ...

You should be able to target edibles with it, but probably would not be my rod of choice. At the price I think you can do a lot better (for less) if you want an all-round surf rod for edibles ...

I have seen one, it is a brute of a rod with incredible backbone, I am sure it is capable of throwing a 10oz sinker. I suspect it is a specialist rod for casting big plugs and spoons from the surf or something like that for big kingfish and the likes.

I think someone like Nepptune might be able to tell you more about it

Nearly bought one but the reel seat frightened me off. Have heard a few reports of reels slipping around the blank when winding under load. Great rods otherwise. A mate has the 10ft spin version and he is very happy..but again worried about the reel seat
