Shimano reel handle

Hi, I have a Shimano Stradic 4000 and 8000. The handles on both reels have deteriorated greatly and the rubber is sticky. Where van I get handel replacements? I am in JHB and my local tackle store does not stock.

eisch, parts on reels is becoming a problem.
even if it is shimano.

it looks like they want us to look at reels as a consumable item and nothing more.

sticky handles is common with spanjaard spray.
mias woodmead might be a option for spares.

let us know if you come right.

Most tackle shops will do a special order for you, if you know the part nr..My suggestion is get the exact part nr (booklet /paper that comes with reel) or download it again and then phone around. If the importer however doesnt have it in stock, you will wait months or maybe forever

You need new knobs, not the entire handle assemblies
Gomexus make them and fairly easily available here.Old knobs will need to be drilled out.

No drilling required on Shimano reels, the Gomexus knobs fits straight on.

So I got six Gomexus knobs for a couple of reels - have not fitted them but they look great. The service was good with a quick delivery time.
