Shimano 15/30 conversion possible

It seems that the 15/30 and old speedmaster TSMlll are the same size, is this correct. If so, can the drive gear and pinion gear from the TSMlll be put into the 15/30 to increase the gear ratio to 6.0:1?

Can this be done? Any comments?

Yes,they are the same size. That's the 15/30 & the TSM3. Both lovely. Uncomplicated reels.

All the parts you mentioned can be interchanged.

have 2 of them that its been done to by Old Salt.

Thanks for the replies, just one thing though, is the TSM lV also compatible as I think the parts for the TSMlll might be hard to come by.

As far as I know, yes. The internal parts can be used in both reels. Even the side plates can be switched around.
