Guys, i'm kinda new to sliding or swimming baits. Please can you assist with some info on tips or technique etc. Emps i've seen the slide trace and the make up of it. I've also seen this trace used by other guys and the sharks seemed to have used it as candy floss ie. transkei sharks. I'm off there in June and need to land one of those monsters. What variation of wire (nylon/plain) size of hook (type) circle or normal ? I just need options. Have any of you landed a monster in Transkei, please share your secrets.

200lb Carbon Coated for most slides.
Make a few traces with Berkley 275lb 49 strand wire for the bigger sized Greys.
I use J Hooks - normally Brown Kendal Round 11/0 for the bulk of my slides for there.
Swim baits a whole other story - you got the tackle for swim baits?

Hey Misguide, I fish left-handed and have approached accurate reels from the US to make me a left-handed reel. I've already received one, the B-870XC and am waiting for the bigger one. It's a mixture of their B2-665W and the new BX2-600. They have used the 665W frame and "engine" or drag etc of the new BX2 range. The reel weighs 29oz with the BX2 handle, I've asked them to use the B2-665W ball handle which weighs 2.5oz less. So my reel is about 27oz. check them out on www.accuratefishing.com . The line capacity claimed by them is 350yards of 50#. I'll have to check the application when I get it. This type of reel is new to me, it's a lever drag as well. If I can't cast it, then i'll swim it.
