I've fished in a zone against him on 6 occasions and it's 3 all.
I've fished in GP Nel's zone on 9 occasions Carp/Bank and National; Trials and he's up 6 to 3.
GP probably was up 7 to 3 on Schalk and GP is the true legen of our freshwater angling.
Schalk was one of our serious top level Bank Anglers but left the competitive game on Provincial and higher level 4 years ago he only fishes up to league level and he'll be the first to admit he's no longer on the top of his game, as he was a few years ago when he fished on average 5 days a week.
Watch this space in terms of Schalk with Bass fishing though. He is doing well in the cash tournaments and on Provincial level and has aspirations of becoming a Protea and I believe it's going to happen SOONER rather than later.
For those who have fished with or against him will know him as a true gentleman and great sportsman and ultimately a competitor who leaves nothing to chance and will never wonder if he did enough or not.
