Greyspot lesser sandshark, caught on chokka/sard combo, 8' dropshot outfit.
During our mozam trip last year december my girlfriend, Steph, got this nice sandie in the Pomene estuary. The guys were sliding in the mouth and she decided to fish on the estuary side. She constructed an ugly looking combo and I wasnt sure if she'll pick anything up, but after a few minutes I heard screaming and she got this nice fish!
Succesfully released!

May 2013

Wilderness lakes.

Duane and I waded to the spot through chest deep septic reed filled water. We were working skitterpops and poppers on the surface when this decent 67cm Leerie picked up his light outfit.

First time I took the camera along. Standing waist deep in the freezing water (we now take a halfjack OBS along for the cold which fits perfectly in the flyjacket...) watching a leerie nail your surface lure is really a sight to behold.

This is my son Kobus who caught his PB Bluefin or Brassy King-fish of 2,2kg on Friday, 2013-03-29 @ Richards Bay harbor.
He used a 7cm Chartreuse color painted spoon. It was  released in a healthy condition to be caught again yet another day :fishn
It was high tide with windy conditions.

Not sure if this would count as Rock & Surf, was caught at the Breede River mouth. Please disregard if it does not qualify.

Kob, 97cm, nearly 10kg
Caught by the lady in the picture, on her pink rod and reel.
She baited up, casted herself, and fought the brute like a pro. Super proud of her.

Fish was ORI-tagged and then released.
Caught 2013/02/10 at Witsand
Photo taken by myself

After 3 sharks my friend was exhausted. So he did a cast and within 5minute he was on. As the reel screamed I ran for the rod after he told me he was too tired . I set the hook and I was on. 7-9minutes and the fish was landed. Just as I wanted to pose for the photo my reel started screaming with the next fish so We decided to take this pic. Shark Measured 185 cm precaudal and girth was 98. Estimated weight is about 84kg. Bait was mackril head on both reels sealine sl50 and line kingfisher high abrasion and the red awa shima .55 .
