They actually worked for me. A few years ago while scratching in the southern cape, I found a few live sea lice in my shad bag (they must have gotten in there the previous night while I was fishing for shad in Hartenbos). As i had run out of bait, I decided to put one of the lice on my light outfit and cast it into a nice working gully. Within seconds I landed a huge kolstert. This kept happening until I ran out of sea lice.

I don't know anything about sea lice (or much about fishing in general actually) but is this sea lice the same thing that we sometimes get when catching hotties from the boat in Onrus and they are sitting on the fish? Usually chuck them away, will try as a bait next time.

sealice or mole crab is really a good bait.
it is also a natural bait for certain fish species.

we would use them when targeting southern pompano, cog grunter, stumpies etc.
flat fish also likes to take them.

normal grunter "spotted " also like it.

I do not put singles on, I like them double.
they live in the shore break.
so catching them can be difficult, but easily done at night.

my friend got a kingie of 20kg on a sealice.
my best was a stumpie of 6,5kg.

shad will also feed on them in the wash....they feed on everything.

so it is a good bait to have, the Durban buys even chow the sealice themselves.

also going to use them this weekend....hopefully something to show.

well i did a lot of research on them and as i saw , they are good bait.
but you dont get them here in southern cape and i really would love to get a few to see what they do here by us.

i really think that they will work like a bomb for fish here.

but my big problem is how do i get some of them here by me in the southern cape from "Durban"

you find them anywhere along the KZN south coast and up, you catch them easiest at lowtide, as the wave pulls back you will see feelers sticking out, you can use a special net or just catch them by hand
