SA's

Dis nogal n vraag! Wil jy gaan oefen by dieselfde dam waar jul SA's het?

1st research on getting all relevant info from guys who fish it for leagues etc

Get a group of guys or the team, fish at least 3 of the zones with each ones own approach

Hold a debrief and find the common denominators in terms of

1. What DIDN'T work

2. Common flavour and bait that DID work and if the baits differ find the common element - sharp pungent ie Spirits and TCP or soft fruity is Banana, Strawberry etc, etc

3. Critical and this must be measured and not estimated. Exact line the fish are feeding at.......each guy line clips his reel where he got fish.......walk them out and get exact position/distance

4. Compare points per hour ie. fishing at 60m give 10 fish (100pts) for 2kg (20pts) and fishing at 130m gives 5 fish (50pts) for 8kg (80pts) so fishing long for bigger fish gives consistantly better points.

Determine you A plan, B plan is A plan plus 20m and a C plan which is totally different and enter the tournament with options

Remember SAFBAF rules have changed back to old scoring rules for SA's 10pts per fish 10pts per kg min weight to qualify as a fish is 150gr and all old nets are allowed

That's very informative Craig, thanks. I think our normal club anglers can use your proposal as well for league angling, although it is slightly different in the fact that you do not have days to practice but rather a normal club comp at the venue a couple of weeks before the actual league. But getting details after the comp and comparing it to the anglers result for the day, should give you an idea of whats potting.
