Nice catches, never underestimate the speed that those size Sandies can take off with.,lol Maybe you're casting so far nowadays that your backing is only 20 odd yards away.::S

Well done.

thanks uncle

well come to think of it....we swam through a gutter and waded +/- 50m onto a bank and threw from there. and then swam back to shore so i probable had a 50 to 80m odd meters of line left on the reel and its first run was very fast

thanks guys

@roland....using 0.55 line with a saltiga 50 and a poseiden heavy and it still had enough energy to make me sweat

but the good news is that the biggest sandy was landed on a makeral cutlet bait with 0.40 line and a saltist 40. great fun but very tiring

thanks bru.

xtremely xtremely strong fish. i think i would rate them the strongest with the most stamina on rock n surf tackle

thats just a baby and it really gave me a work out.

apparently the 60-90kg ones are a nightmare

Nice fish those.

I have to agree that they are the strongest fish I have ever caught from the rocks but as for Stamina I think a Zambie has the best, those thinks are like a Caterpillar Bulldozer slow, methodical and destructive.
