SAFETY SPOTS

Hey guys

Sad to say that the tongaat long beach [river mouth] is a risk to park your car and fish. My car was stolen on saturday. I kept on checkin on it very half an hour and imagine at 12:00 mid day it was last checked up on and at 12:30 it was gone!!!

While reporting it at the police station they said almost every week there is a car broken into or stolen at the tongaat mouth.

please guys dont take risks cos i was lucky cos its easy to be hi-jacked in places like this.

Ey sowi to hear that Salty. Yep can thank God no-one was harmed physically. Its a sad state of affairs when one has to go fishing n have one mind working on the water and the other on "i wonder if my cars ok?"

Sorry to here that Salty,

Rather your car than you hey. But its a sickness in society that we have to fear these people, they are just cowards. Really pray one day that i can have the opportunity to beat the sh!t out of these guys.

Hey Kingfish,

With our laws the courts will probably lock you up for GBH and let the criminals go free.

Can make some good bait for white sharks, these guys, after you beat them up, you can be like that pig farmer in canada.. and chop them up ...

Enough of that, its just sad that we cant even beat them up ..

You right there

Hey Kingfish,

I like your thinking man - But Nobody said that you can't kick the sh!t out of these criminals, Just make sure they or anybody else can't identify you or your vehicle afterwards.

Where there is will there is a way.

Hi Salty

Sorry about your vehicle..... I have had the same experience once when my  vehicle got stolen in front of Bay of Plenty pier in durbs...the vehicle even had an alarm and a gear lock.

It seems like fishermen have become soft targets these day. It it is really sad that whenever you want to go fishing, you have to compromise you fishing spot because of safety.

Guys in future if you are going fishing, put a post on the web....many members will be keen on joining you on your trip....SAFETY IN NUMBERS....

Unfortunately the best fishing locations always have a parking or safety issue, that is why the admin team have to grit their teeth sometimes when trying to sort out a location for the comps....we are currently working on get ARMED SECURITY for some of our comps....it will have a small cost, but at least we can fish with peace of mind and know that our vehicles are safe....and is exactly where we parked it....We want to start negotiating with some registered security companies to assit us.

If the members are keen on this idea, please let us know....it will help the admin guys negotiate .....and guys remember

SAFETY IN NUMBERS.....invite other members.....its easy.....we have SEALINE....

Salty you lost a vehicle, it can be replaced.....I'm just glad that they didn't hurt you.

Hey Dinesh,

Thats an excellent Idea, and there is no way I can see any members not liking the idea.

if you weigh up the cost, time and effort involved (to repair a broken into or stolen car) then the small cost of an armed security guard is a small price to pay.

In fact I will venture to say the cost per member will be much less than a single slide bait trace.

And Many thanks to our officials for your efforts in going that extra mile.

My 2 cents.

Thanks

Hi Guys

If you look at both the coasts in KZN and the Durban region I think there are serviced by a few good security companies. The one that has experienced armed guards will be ADT also with good response vechicles. I am myself with Coin Security but will not recommend them for this type of security. They do not have the coverage.

Keep it safe

Hi Dinesh

Exellent idea concerning the security precautions. The more anglers participating in this scheme, the cheaper it will be for each angler. Unfortunately you will have to put your hand deeper into your pocket if you wish for a safe fishing trip. I dont want to give up fishing and on the other hand I also dont want to give up my or my families lives, so your idea is acceptable and should be supported by all members. You have my full support.

Greetings
