SAD PASSING - ERWIN SHROEDER

Hi all.

With great sadness this morning I was informed our local pro angler Erwin Schroeder passed away in a motor accident on Saturday night.

Just Friday he was in our local newspaper " The Lowvelder" holding up a bass after being ranked no 6 in SA and earning his Protea colours .

He will be greatly missed in our fishing lifestyles and he will be remembered for all his efforts in Bass conservation.

He leaves behind two sons and his wife.

I am not sure yet about funeral arrangements.

It is very sad news and a major blow to Bass fishing in SA. He has done a lot to protect our little green friends. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family in this tuff time. May his legacy and what he believed in live on in everybody that enjoys this sport of ours

I am deeply saddened by this news! I have worked with Erwin on the Alien Inavasive Spesies research tasked team. Erwin has made an enormes contribution on behalf of SABAA and freshwater angling in general to promote freshwater fish conservation. He has developed an exel spreadsheet which all angling bodies used as mastercopy to map the distribution of freshwater fish spesies creating a databasis to be used by the task team. His skills, knowlege and pation for conservation will be missed. My condolences to his friends and family. God bless.
