First trip in October 2013. River very low, but clear. Tigers slow and only on copper spoon. Drift bait only produced Catfish, one after the other. At least Frikkie, my fishing partner could play around with his camera and got a few great shots.
On the way we saw this.($$$)
Cats on drift bait.
Copper spoon doing the job.
Always a sight to enjoy.
Locals have no fear.
The launch, thanks for the pics, Frikkie Maartens, my friend.
How high can they go.
Second trip in January. Water level higher and off colour. Could not buy a Tiger during the day on spoon. Fished during the night with drift bait and caught a couple of rats.
First cat.
Rat by night
And Gerhard joined me at 03:00
I suppose the bigger Mommas were around, but were particular about their diet.
Tackle used. Quantum medium heavy rod. Chronarch reel. 12lb Stren fluorocarbon. Storm 22gram Copper spoons. 4/0 Gamagatsu circle hooks for drift bait.
