What is the average life of pontoons? Is there a way to maintain/extend the life-cycle of the pontoons?

Firstly keep it out of the sun when storing it.

Dont wash it with: Sun Light Liquid, Handy Andy. Rather try and use normal car shampoo.

If there are stains on the pontoons use a product called Mek 2000 works like acetone but does not harm the pontoons.

Finally treat with WONDER TREAT it is a silicone based liquid that acts like a sealant. Almost like you have dry skin and putting cream on.

Sun light liquid and even Sun tan lotion is alcohol based... if it then stands in the sun for to long and over a period of time its starts eating away the material, alot of boat seat we re-upholster all have been damaged by sun block and sun light liquid. another big victim is clean green.

I have never heard of OMO with rubberducks. so i would be lying if i told you

Sorry No OM as well, my dad says that all detergents should not be used as it a grease remover

Omo works well, We have been using diluted Cleen Green since 1997, after the use I rinse imeadiatley with water.

Must say that since I use a high presure washer, I really dont need any soap.

Where do I find that silicon treatment?

@ SLM. Thank you for the info. I once heard an owner bragging about how long his pontoons lasted by wiping the pontoons down with Mr Min furniture polish.

I fetched my duck from buccaneer last week and Carl said I must spry the pontoons with Mister Min.
