Rubbaride Axles

Does anybody have an opinion on Rubbaride axle's for use on boat trailers. My thinking is it would cut out the routine replacement of the leaf springs. I wonder though if you would have water ingress between the rubber insertions and the steel housings.

you are right in thinking so. Only heard good things about them and that is a solid square bar. A bit of corrosion wont kill it easy.

Get them from Burquip.

Way to go t(((up((

I love Rubberide axles. Used a 3,5ton one on a trailer I use behind one of my trucks. It gives a great ride. I'd never considered one for a boat trailer though. Get it galvanised, you won't regret it from a peace of mind perspective

They are great for trailers with more than one Axle as they basically give you independent suspension. The Trailer body and therefore the boat sits much lower than a leaf spring setup so towing speeds are improved as you have more stability, one thing you do need to consider if you are beach launching is that the trailer won't dump the boat as well as a leaf spring setup.
