Pan iemand het my eenkeer vertel dat dit baie geharde katrolle is.

Word hulle nie gebruik vir see-hengel nie? Ek dink ook hulle is redelik groot. Vergelyk hulle met die Daiwa Opus reeks? Die rede hoekom ek vra is dat my twee Daiwa Opus 6000 katrolle tussen 500-600meter se 0.4mm Awa Shima lyn ophet met 'n breekkrag van in die 20kg. Ek het 'n Maxima UltraGreen Leader van 0.7mm op.

Brakkanjan. Soos ek opgelees het, het die katrolle bekend geraak vir see hengel. Hierdie wat ek gesien het, is egter 'n varswater katrol, kompleet met baitrunner.

Hi Pan,

I have heard that the Rovex brand is linked to Penn Reels. I used 4 of the Rovex 5000 reels for approx 1 year and have passed them on to my son who still uses them without any hassles. I only had a problem with one of the reels. At the point where the circle of the bail arm meets with the line guide the circle section came loose but I used a good epoxy glue to repair the reel and its perfect again. I in fact reeled in my PB with one of them. At the time of purchase I paid a mere R150.00 per reel, value for money without a doubt.

I bought a Rovex baitrunner approx six months ago, not sure of the model (it's lying in a box somewhere in the garage).  I used it twice and was not impressed with the casting ability.  Using 7lb line I was just lucky to get the line into the water now and again.   The line keeps on snagging in the front edge of the spool when you cast.  The front of the spool in my opinion seems to too flat (minimal taper on the edge) and the thin line cant run freely out of the spool.   Yes, I suppose you could overfill the spool to make sure it doesnt snag when the line runs during the cast but that in itself is not always a good idea as an overfull spool has its own problems.

It will probably work well if you use thicker line with more "spring" in it as it will go over the front edge of the spool easier.

Other than that it is well made and has a good firm feel to it when reeling in.

Roliocat. I use 18lb line minimum. Perhaps that will cure the problem ?
Can you please check on the model. If it is a Nitrium 5000 or 7000, with baitrunner function, i might buy it from you, seeing that you don't use it anymore.

No, been looking for the reel, cant find it, I think my laaitie might have 'given' it to one of his pals.  But it was a Ni 4000, I can see that from the spare spool amongst my other spare spools, which is probably all I am going to have left of the reel!

Jammer die katrol is weg want sou graag wou sien wat daar verkeerd is. Van die beste waarde vir geld, bait runners tans op mark !
