Rooidak Struisbaai

Is the rooidak huis beach area in Struisbaai out of bounds in late December or are there designated fishing hours?

With the holiday crowds found it impossible to fish this spot.

I think you are refering to argaunaota park?? well when it is to crowded there just move a few hundred meters in the direction of the plaat.. you can fish there whenever you like!

You can also fish towards De mond in the surf , Well worth it , i hardly fish that stretch you talking about , at night Valsddeurloop also produce nice Kob , Elf and day time nice Krackers too , and not fished very often at all ! You fish from a flat rock , onto sand and some scattered reef

You are correct!  In hindsight we recall seeing the name Argaunaota Park closeby. Being unfamiliar with area will in future fish closer to Die Plaat as per your suggestion.

He he..die rooi dak huis se dak is nie meer rooi nie,dink hy het ook nou n nuwe eienaar.Waarom hengel jy nie op die Plaat self nie,ek vewys vanaf die ingang na die mond se kant toe.Die beste hengel area op die plaat begin by Rietjies op die plaat (so 3.5km vanaf die ingang.Daar begin die paralelle sloepe eers mooi vorm.Vanaf Rietjies tot by die draad is dit KOOK water hengel area !

PS guys , i have a call yesterday from a local and he told me the Tail are wild and THICK on the numbers and Alphards , hope it holds till the YTF !!!
