Hi Guys!
I am 20 years old and have been fishing for 2 years.
Recently I have been fishing Roodeplaat once a week and have learned a few tricks or 2. ((r(e(ling
So the first time I fished Roodeplaat it was a desaster!
I only caugt 2 0.9kg carps for a whole week while the bloke next to me caugt so many I started to give up the hobby. But recently whith alot of free time I decided to give it another chance. So I started to go to the dam once a week.
:fishn Things did`nt look to good though. Determined to get my sh!t together I started to look at my gear. The biggest thing that influenced my chances of catching someting was the line I used. Using 0.5mm thick line casting was`nt a big problem.
Soo I made a big mistake there... As I did some research I changed my line to 0.15mm ion silicone line with a 0.25mm ion silicone leader. Suddenly things started to look up. Catching 29 Carps in 10 hours straight with only one rod in the water!! biggest 5 kg and smallest 0.7 kg.:first
What a proud momment in my life indeed!
In a one month period things started to look bad again. I figured if I did a few improvements to my feed I would catch some more fish again.. It worked though.. As I caught so many while the people next to me started to get very very pissed at me.. cchhiilllpiiilll
So the last 4 weeks it looked very bad and non was caught. I turned to my bait and even though I was won I didn`t give up.
WEEK 1
I realised that when it rained 2-3 days after the fish don`t bite or actually is really slow. Waiting up to 2-4 hours on a catch.
WEEK 2
I got the bright idea to go fishing for the night. Great succes! Just 4 hours before the storm broke, the fish were booming! But the next day it was a compotition.
From 5am till 11am there was nothing! I decided to go down the line and ask a few people whats up... Not a single fish! So my Concluetion is that after it rained the next day it`s useless..
WEEK 3
Things didn`t look good either. as low tide approtched fishing became very hard.. Very humit and a high temperature didn`t do very good to the fish neither did it do my tan good.
WEEK 4
So now it`s full moon and it is low tide. After a day to Rust De Winter.. It was safe to say such a day can`t end like that.. So off to Roodeplaat where I know how and what.
NOTHING!!!!!!
It was hot and it was almost about to rain WTF?????
So I got the idea that low tide was the thief!
So what wen`t wrong this month????
