Hi everybody going to Roodekoppies for the first time on saturday the 14 may. please any information will help!!! but would like to catch slightly bigger fish.So any information such as distance, baits, dips and so on will help.

Hi everybody trip to roodekoppies went well!!! But some vital info I need to give! First of all the dam filled with a lot of water the week that pasted. So when we got to roodekoppies fishing resort we went to the the right but was extreamly full so we went left down to D zone. We started the comp at 8am and had no bites at all!!! The biggest thing me and my dad discovered was to make a feeding spot. So we spent about 2 hours casting in food at about 70 meters. After that we decided to take a break and put in some bait on the hooks. No bites at all again so back to the feeding! So we fed the whole day! At sunset the fish started bitting and did they bite my dad caught about 7 fish in a row!!! And me 6 in a row. Then all of a sudden no bites again!!! So back to feeding it was about 9pm by then so when we were done it was about 11.30pm so we put lines back in and bites were back. My dad put his two rods in and as he put his second rod down his first rod started screaming!!! My dad caught a beautiful 4.25kg carp. And so then night went on with lots of small carp. The comp finished at 8 and then prize giving! My dad won second biggest carp. And ja dats it! But most important the dips and baits. We fed with plain bom and every now and then adding a little almond. We caught with SWD, bloekom mielie and perdeby floatie! On the bom almond s and banjo. Hope this helps!!!
