Hi

Need some assistance - from an estate the widow like to dispose of rods.

A Shimano 7 ft 2 pc graphite for R80
An Elbe Estuary Pro 12ft for R180

Is this worthwhile to take it off her? don;t want to do her in nor myself.

Thx

All I was told both rods in very good condition - the Shimano is a 7ft fast action dropshot and the Elbe is a 12ft Est Pro.

Your comments appreciated.

A bargain,
I have the 8ft Elbe Est Pro, mine is a LIGHT tackle rod, so not meant to cast heavy stuff, but great for small spinners, spoons and plugs.
New they not much more expensive in the 2-300 range.

To establish an idea on the value of the Shimano, you'll need it's full description such as Shimano 'Nexave' or 'Scimitar',etc. This can normally be found on bottom piece of rod with model nr,if there is one, plus recommended weights/line strengths, etc.Get all these details and phone suppliers and get a pricing from them, bearing in mind that rods and reels are constantly upgraded and these models may now be obsolete.Alternatively, take rods to suppliers and ask them directly and perhaps they can even offer a written second hand value relative to rods which you can produce to the widow and give you both peace of mind.I've found some of these suppliers have very helpful sales staff and are faced with all sorts of situations and may just have had to offer similar to this request at some time or other. To try and get an estimation on the value, the condition and age must also be taken into account,as it's by no means a new rod anymore and like most things devalues accordingly.Cheers!
