Morning guys , need some advice.Went looking for a 10ft light rod , was offered a loomis @ R590 (last one so its probably gone now and i know thats a good price from what i saw elsewhere - brand new) and saw various other brands in the R950 and up class.As you may have guessed its been a while since i went shopping for hardware , i normally only pop in for a few hooks and cotton etc , always checked the avaialble stuff out , but holy mackerel prices are not shy anymore....is there no longer a decent "cheap" range of light tackle stock around , like the good old blue/black marlin ranges , just dont see them or is it the stores just dont want to give an affordable quality range , rather high end or nothing???The reel prices i can still appreciate , there are quite a few different ranges with various pricing , that is cool , i saw a neat diawa crossfire not sure the model , but R189 is not bad to start with as its a quality brand and you expect to pay for a reel.........

Things are getting out of hand!
I paid R950 for my Daiwa Exceler 2 years ago. Got two Shimano Sedona reels for R450 a piece and to date have not caught a sizer fish on drop shot??? I don't mind paying for the rods and reels, but atleast I would like to use it and see it bend...
O well. We'll keep on trying...

Thats the fun bit getting out and trying to hook into something , im going to the baan this weekend no 14ft stick only the 7,6 and i just found a shimano 4000fd grinder , nice little thing 5,5kg kingfisher ultimate abrasion on there and hope the stumpies are there!!!Either way its a lekka drive lekka place , if the fish are there great need to check this reel can do it , got some nice ones 3 weeks ago but the 14ft gets a bit heavy after a while.......tight lines
You gonna do the art lure or add some pink prawns?
I know we use to catch those copperheads there at the naval base (jetty) using prawn. Not sure if they will take flukes... Any way... hope you get a couple...
