hi all ,as you know im teaching my son to fish,and hes battling with his casting,he was using 2 old specimen rods that i want using .then a couple of weeks ago i bought us both velocitys-12 foot.for myself the fine ,but now hes really casting kak.bombs come off all the time,cuts his finger,max distance about 40m. whats the most popular rod for juniors ,and is there a casting clinic.

Hi there. I have a 8 year old son. I also shopped a long time for rods and finally found suitable ones. Okuma Tournament Pro 10 foot. The rod is very light and the butt section is shorter than the Velocity and other rods. This makes it very comfortable for him when casting. The other rods he had to take the butt halfway and that influence his action whan casting. Add a Shimano DL 4000 baitrunner and you have a very potent combination. My son is slenderly built and his casting have improved 200%.
