rod holders

HI Guys

Was hoping for a bit of solid advise from some experienced duck owners.

I recently bought a 5.2 infanta SR and am battling to set it up in terms of rod holders, scotty;s etc

I do have a ski bar.

Does anyone know if scotty make a ski bar mount for a round bar ?

I have seen a pair of Scotties on a semi before.

If my memory serves me correct, the chaps had bait-boards mounted on the bar so think you'd be able to mount the Scotties on to that.

I have the same problem as you. I haven't seen Scotty clamps for rollbar/ski-bars, but would like to know if you come right. I have seen other plastic rod holders with bar clamps , but the rod-holders are inferior, so have left them alone.

I am getting to the point where I beleive a trolling board with standard fitting rod holders is the only good option as other ss bar clamps I have used just loosen up.

I have yet to work out a good solution for fitting a trolling board to the roll bar/ski-bar in such a way as to be easily removable when the family want to go wakeboarding etc. Don't want to permanently fix a board to the bar.

Any suggestions out there?

PM Bazil(RPG on Sealine) , he's a buddy of mine and had some fittings made for him to fit the Scotty's to the ski bar. Also on an Infanta 5.2 .

Its brilliantly done...maybe he's got some pics of it otherwise we'll take some on our trip down to Richardsbay coming weekend

I've seen the Scotty bar holders in the shops. Just ask your local dealer, know they are out of stock at most places now for some reason.

Buddy had similar ones, they were crap. We needed a spanner to adjust it but then you had to keep a spanner handy. Welded some bars onto the nut so it could be locked by hand. The 50Lbers pulled the port one loose all the time. Thank goodness for lanyards.

The idea on the pics is quite the way I would have considered but phone Yamaha in Pretoria Wonderboom, opposite to Makro, they are keeping this and will most definately be able to help you. Motor kind & marine in Pretoria Voortrekkers Road will also give you a number of a guy called Jaco (somewhere in Pta north) that will definately be able to provide you with a sollution. He will definately help you, he also does all sorts of Stainless steel work and I can garuantee the best prises from him

Fit a trolling board. Then you can do whatever you want. I like flat rod holders personally for trap sticks. Troll lures much better and the rod is going nowhere till you tale it out.
