Came across this rod while browsing. Rated 15oz + bait! I've never heard of anyone casting more than 10oz, and that for sliding only. Isn't this a bit of overkill?
Anyone targetting submarines with this beast? :SSS

The bronzie is the same blank as the assassin Blade HMG and it is rated 8-10oz and costs R4000.

Hi dave, if its the same rod then must be a mistake on the site. Found it on bigcatch.co.za for R4000. You'd have to be a beast to load a 15oz rod properly haha.

Wow Dave, now that was a Wild, Unfounded and totally incorrect statement.

The Bronzie is:

Wow Dave, now that was a Wild, Unfounded and totally incorrect statement.

The Bronzie is:

1. Longer than the Blade

2. Different diameter sections

3. Has a rectangular and not Oval Base

4. Even being longer than the blade is lighter.

5. Is full HMG

The rod was posted on this site as a Pentagon that was being tested with casts of baits exceeding 19oz

Gremlins builds on this blank but with a T24 tip as well as the Full HMG Version.

Here is "that guy's" thread on the rod for some detail on the rod / blank: http://sealine.co.za/view_topic.php?id=73238&forum_id=1&page=1

NO, it's not a Blade

YES, it's worth the money you pay, if you have the physical strength to load it

Ek dink die is die stok van wat hy praat met "Blue Marlin oval technology ”

http://www.bigcatch.co.za/shop/blue-marlin/rod-bm-bronzie-t53-14ft-15oz/

"Blue Marlin has made use of oval technology in the base to create maximum stiffness where it is required. The inner and outer sections of blanks are oval which makes the wall thickness equal across any section of the blank. The base section (oval) is tapered down to a 25mm round diameter to accommodate the mid section. The rod can cast up to 15oz. The rod is available in T53 (High Carbon) Matt and T30 Matt."

Yes that is exactly the one I posted about in the thread beflore yours and exactly the one used to make the Pentagon that is discussed in the Sealine link in the post above yours.

I've built 3 and all 3 have caught really big fish on throwbaits.
