Just drill a hole strait threw the clip with your boilie drill.

You can also buy clips with plastic insets that you would just put in place without all the drilling..

Now incert the folowing items onto you leader line in the following order, and attach the swivel, i use a parlomar knot.

Using fluorocarbon as a leader is a good idea as it has a greater sinking ability than mono or co polymer line is invisible and has good abrasion resistance..

The use of lead core isn`t nessesary and aparently it isn`t carp friendly as it stops your lead from being able to slip off the line in the event of a breakk off when using a inline sinker..

If you like you can use a meter of sinking tube to hold your line on the ground behind your sinker. (just never put a swivel behind this as it will prevent the sinker coming off in the event of a break off.) so the fish are not able to detect your line in the water and it protects the carp from your line on his flanks once hooked.

OK...! lets try again from where i left off...

(just never put a swivel above the sink tube and in the case of an inline sinker, as it will prevent the sinker coming off in the event of a break off, and could result in the fish snagging itself and dying...

If you are fishing in snagy waters like Tzaneen Dam you can clip the safty clip like this, so that when the fish pics up your bait the sinker automaticaly drops of and the fish is able to fight you in the upper water column away from the snags down below.

However you will have to drop your bait by boat as casting it in like this will result in the lead comming off..

Now you can grab your leader and guide your swivel into the safty clip while pulling on the standing end, if you have clipped your safty clip then use the offcut to pin your swivel otherwise just use a tooth pic..

Attach your sinker as follows..

And slide the rubber sleeve up against the clip to secure it in place..

Now constuct your hook link. You can use something like kingfisher super braid, but i would sugest using coated hook link material as the latter tends to get tangled up when your bait hits the bottom of your swim..

Cut a piece of braid about 30cm long and as in the picture, make a surgeons loop on the left to hold your bait and make the loop long enough to accomodate what ever type of bait it is you plan on using ie: one or two boilies, three kaboems ext, then using a simple snell tie your hook on, leave about a centimeter from the top of you hooks curve to the bottom of your bait..

Now make a figure of eight loop on the right hand side of your hooklink, according to the previous picture.

Insert the anti tangle tube, part of the clip onto your boilie needle thick side first..

hook the figure of eight loop through the needle and slide the tube onto your hooklink..

Now hook the figure of eight loop on to your swivel..

And push the tube up and over the swivel and into the inside of the safty clip..

Thanks Mark. One of the reasons I asked this question was so that there is some more info on sealine on how to actually connect the weight to the rig/line in a safe way. Just posting picks of hair rigs can lead to some guys making rietvlei-hair rigs if you catch my drift...

I will be making a setup this weekend and taking photos and then I will post a topic and we all can discuss whether it is a suitable setup for specimen angling on a budget.

nice illustration and explanation there Mark. Its quite important for the lead to come off at places like Tzaneen and where there are snags or weed/watergrass. Its amazing how time after time the fish heads up to the surface once the lead is dropped.

Only one comment though on the rig you displayed. A hook with a straight or in-turned eye will be much more effective as it creates  slight angle with the line which increases the chance of a hook-up. Hooks with an out-turned eye is best suited for pop-up presentations.
