Good evening All, i had the pleasure of doing reels for Stef Germann from Free Spool Angling. They were a Saragossa 20 000 and a Stella 20 000, the flagship in the shimano range of grinders. Have a peek at the gossa and stella both had some nasty corrosion going on inside. The planetary gear of the gossa was seized onto the bush it runs on, this required replacement. The stella had corrosion also going on if you look at the inside of the housing. Every single bearing on the stella was bone dry, look at the pictures, this is never a good thing with salt sater and wading. It means zero protection for bearings. These are of the shimano high end grinders so i was very pleased to have been able to help resolve the issues and get them back into commission again. I hope you enjoy the pics.
