Reg Number on Inflatable

Hello All.
Current number is painted on my inflatable and i need to change it.

1) I tried taking off the current number with thinners but some of the original paint started coming off, so i stopped.

Do i just stick a Vinyl sticker over the current number?

What is Best Practice? How do you guys manage this ?

Best bet is to have a patch made to cover the numbers using same material as pontoons. You can then place the new number on the patch. When I had my duck, the chaps from super ducks made mine and fitted it. Give them patch size and ask to stick numbers. If done, take boat and they will fit it for you. They have the right glue etc. Hope it helps. My patch was black with white numbers. You should find their number on the web. I see they also advertise super ducks on gumtree. Can get the contact details there as well.
