Hi
I am new to the surf fishing...i bought myself a 14 feet shimano beastmaster surf pro medium rod but think i made a mistake.I bought the rod and a coffee grinder and now someone told me it wont work.Any one that can help on some info

It will not work as the guides on the rod is to small for a grinder as it makes a loop as it comes of the reel, where as a multipliers comes out straight. You have two option, one try and sell the rod, or secondly you can change the guides to bigger ones and the reel seat, or just cut the bionic finger of and keep the reel seat.

If you go back to the shop where you bought the rod from they may exchange it for a grinder rod...if its a reputable shop that is...

That's actually the best, try and exchange. didn't think of that.

which shop did you buy it from? Pretty lame of them if they sold you that as a combo, it will work, but you now have dedicated grinder rods you can buy off the shelf so there was no need to sell you a trigger winch rod.

Thanks for all the replies...managed to get a multiplier reel for the rod.Now i can go fishing.

Just in case you are not a multiplier man and you struggle to cast the reel...contact Cuban Cigar or Old Salt on here and get the reel magged. Makes fishing much more enjoyable and stress free
