When at the coast it is always good to read the water so to speak. But how do you guys go about in reading the water when angling dams, do you look at the contours of the land to establish what the contours are under water or for what do you look.
I look at the angle the shore hits the water. If it is a steep drop I will assume that the water is relatively deep infront of me.
I also look for activity on the water surface to determine were to cast my lines.
