Lilly pads is what's doing the rounds lately (so I hear) and the guys get them on watermelon seed flukes and toads (the latter being skipped over the open spots in the lilly pads), thats what I heard from the Guys at Zambesi angling and surrounds. Hope it helps, and WB 2 U 2, and was GR8 meeting you on the 13th, must go again, have to kill VC's PB now since I tracked and hunted him down, he's in me sights, now just gotta haul out Dorothy's bigger brother.......

yip was good to meet you nice to put a face to people here...

will def make another plan to get back there...

i see she was caught on friday again weighing just over 3.7kg...

thanks for the info i need all the help i can get.

NO probs Bud, Again on Friday this time weiging 3,7, now this leaves me wondering (cause i got home and immediately rigged my scale to a 1,5kg dumbell and it measured 1,5kg's on the dot), so either I must have caught her just as she got up from the breakfast table (her belly was kinda fat/thick) or the bloke that caught her on friday scale is a wee bit off, or it's correct and she had time to digest the extra grams which will make more sense as when you's guys caught her in Feb so pulled the scale to 3,3 now 3,7 and like i said with her getting up form a feast table with that fat belly a nice 4,02 we I landed her..... Makes me wonder what growth they have in say a place like Bass lake per year ito of weight?

her belly was def much bigger than when i caught her...it also depends at what stage the fish she ate was in her digestive system...

Perhaps that's why these big fish are called pig's cause she might have ate more than her tummy could actualy hold comfortably...... anyone for seconds?

Fish moved to the deeper water, if you don't have a boat now you're going to struggle.

End of April should be fun again, pre-winter feeding in the shallows

I'd fish the weeds and lilly pads on the northern shore, at he power lines. We caught 23 on saturday, with lots coming on frogs skipped over the lilly pads and holes in the weeds. Fish the outside lillies first, then move deeper into them. This is hard fishing with lots of casts, lots of strikes and lots of cleaning your trawling motor! You'l do well to land every 3rd strike you get...
