Hey Spirits,

Tackle: Torium 30 , 0.50mm kingfisher, 210 LB bleeding wire slide trace with new 10/0 bandits and Diachi hooks. Rod : Pentagon HMG.

Bait : I took 1 bonny , 1 Horse mackeral , 2 Normal Mackeral and 1 chokka and came home with not even a tail section of bait.

Thanks Sringbean, very good setup you got their. I have the Pentagon HMG medium, used it only 2 times since December, tell me how did you find the pulling power of this rod with these big raggies.

Pentagon medium is a wonderfuf rod. I have one but with a 8-9 ounce tip. the rod is abit soft but you can really pull a fish with it. The reason why i took a pentagon medium was coz i need a softer rod to cast further coz as you can see im not very well built on the upper body. I have landed plenty of raggies with that rod even a bronzie in mazeppa off the island and it held up well.

Thanks Deez. Alot of guys under estimate the Torium range of reels but i guess proof is in the pudding.

You are correct Desmond the is only Black angler in South Africa that is registered with SASAA. he has been fish league and competeively for about 8 years now. Thay guy can freakin fish bra . he has his presidents protea colours infact i think he got it twice. At the development nationals in 2006/2008 he was top angler. We are very lucky to have him in our club as a member .

that is very good indeed, we need more black anglers in this day and age. there is so much that can be achieved, besides the fishing, enviromental awareness, conservation etc.
