PVA - Stick Mix

Morning Guys.

What is your take on PVA?

Im gonna start using it again this weekend. Has anyone got any good stck mix recipes for me?

This is the one I am going to use:

Peanuts, Tigers, 2 kinds boilies (fishmeal, scopex), Betaine Pellets, Rabbit Pellets.

Basically shoved it all into the wifes magimix (she was not impressed):fbash and blended it into a powder

Lunker, get off the betaine pellets man, hahahahaa!!!

How about ground up tigers, mixed with ground up maize, with a teaspoon of dried chilli flakes. Add a little "mieliebomb" if the mix is too wet for the bag.
Or you can replace the chilli flakes with plain garlic powder.

The chillies worked well for me.

You right, i need to move more towards things that catch carp and not stink them away...lol

You mention Garlic powder! Is that the normal garlic powder you get at all the Indian shops? Not Garlic salt?

I use the following mix for BFC:
- fine Peanut feed
- rys meel
- hemp
- toasted nut oil

I have now had way too much coffee. But if it weren't for the coffee, I'd have no identifiable personality whatsoever.

So sorry for the mistake - its Maize Rice and not Rice Flour

Jacques, I can imagine how you feel after all the prep work lol....

Viskop, koffiemaag, afarms en papbene, at least you crackin jokes though! Hope you have a magic angling weekend and it all pays off.

MC. I stopped at my local curry shop and got garlic powder and dried chillies last night and made the stick mix....smells deadly and also chased the wife to bed!!!LOL

I was surprised to see the amount of powdered products they do...most of the stuff strangely enough is sold at tackle shops the only difference it will cost me R5-00 a packet at the curry shop and over R30-00 at the tackle shops.

I got a bottle of Coconut oil that I am gonna try on one of my bait sticks. Is coconut oil worth the while or is a waste of time?

Isnt that just a sales gimmik hey! Flip they get on the band wagon and because its conveniently placed on the shelf, a lot of ppl will just blindly buy it....

Hey Lunker you going for tropical fish? Ive never tried coconut oil, would be interesting.

I did ask John D one day while fishing LL and he just had a smile on his face, didnt answer me but there must be coconut in there.

I read up on some site a guy uses coconut oil in all his boilies and makes a glug with coconut oil, 5ml cod liver oil, sweetner and glycerine and uses it aswell as a spray for his stick mix.Worth a try.

specimen angling is all about trying new and different ways to trick the big guy so if you feel trying something like coconut oil is worth a go then give it a bash. iv seen coconut boilies on a uk online store before so im guessing the flavour has brought some success in the past for them to put it on the shelf.

I posted my BFC mix the mix I use for competative carp angling is the following:

- Dry supercast 70%
- Dry Cake flour 30%

That's it
