From what I can gather on the Purglas website their rods are not graphite but carbon fibre. Is this the case?
and skrops says he is not an xpert at this.....lolGoldshark, I am no expert here but.
Graphite is a natural form of carbon, or in some cases ppl will refer to graphite as carbon, graphite in itself has no strength but is a excellent conductor. graphite will be processed at very high temperatures to form carbon strands which by themselves can not be used for many things, however when they combine the carbon strands with a resin, you get a carbon or graphite composite and is extremely strong. which is what our rods are made from.
Graphite occurs naturally or can be synthetically be produced, a process I am not familiar with.
