Purglas 400/4 - 3 Piece

Got a quote from my local tackle shop for a 400/4 - 3 piece = R1900 for the blank. It seems a bit expensive as deon only paid R2200 for his 400/6 Custom built.

Does anyone have a contact?

Gold, I know your'e in George but phone Angler's den in Edenvale he has a huge selection on Purglass and his prices are realy good, even if you just phone him to compare prices.

Purglass still seem as popular as ever.I've got one about 2 months ago and will probably be looking at another one myself.Don't enjoy my other rods as much as Purglass.PurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrGlass!

Hi GS.It's a Purglas 1 piece that i have.Haven't tried a 3pce Purglas as yet,but have tried other 3 pce rods and since getting the 1 pce Purglas i've much preferred the action and the cast as opposed to the 3 piece.And I'm now on the look for a 400/3 or similar 1 pce.Cheers!

Guys,
Excuse my ignorance, but with Purglas you basically double the last digit to get your casting weight? Meaning Deon's 400/6 could essentially cast a 12oz sinker?
What should you be looking to pay got 400/6 blank, any ideas?

When I was in George The only supllier of custom built rods was Fishing For Africa Andrew Pauts .There was a guy who worked for him and did most off the customizing.He Built me a 400/3 still have it today beutiful rod.Mite be able to get his no for u.

Andrew sold that shop years ago and it is now closed down. The guy you're referring to is Russel Tutani, he now works at Extreme fishing and he's a mate of mine that fishes the league with me.

Hein at Tackle Trader is making some good rods.The old ballie at Extreme fishing was of opinion that I got a good deal from him.(one piece)
Hope you come right, but why not one piece? It weighs next to nothing!
I would be happier if the fish were biting though.

I was also refering to Hein at tackle and trader.He has built some really good rods used to do it from his home at some time dont know if he still does though.
