Propellor cavatation damage

Hello

I recently fitted 4 blade props (Solas) on my motors (for better performance)
now about 40 hours using it, there appears cavitation damage (pit marks) on all the blades.
There are 2 zinc anode's (zincs) fitted on each transom mount of the motors. (heard that the zincs have something to do with it??)
The original 3 blade Suzuki props did not appear to have the same problem. However I did not use the 3 blade's as long as the 4 blade's

If there is anyone out there that can help me with the cavitation damage problem? How to stop it or what the cause is?

I get this in my Clymer Yamaha workshop manual. It could be wrong props.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
If the 4 blade may be the problem and that it is the wrong propellor for the motors.. Do you think that a anti ventalation plate will stop the problem... or should I run different props?
Also can stainless steel propellors get cavatation damage?

I suggest you go with the following steps:
1) Estimate the correct prop size and important the correct pitch (3 or 4 blade) for your motors from a Suzuki expert.
2)Also look at this interesting article.

if the props are working then just leave it as is and use them till they worn out the paint will come off all props at some time normally in a couple off hours the pitting you get is not great but not going to cause any proplems
