Hi Guys

Me and my two brothers are down in Yzerfontein for a while and would love to do an off shore fishing trip. The prices that they charge here are crazy and we are still at school and I am currently a Student.

We are thus looking to tag along with somebody aleady going ou for the day and we will obviously pay for the petrol bait etc...

Thanks in advance guys

Sorry for being so direct, it must sound rude (and like I am a sponger), but this is not the case.:fbash!!!!! I am a keen fisherman and appreciate your replies

Thanks Philip

Philip ,

I used to beg the guys at sodwana when I was still at school/Varsity , but they all seemed to have more crew then needed, Eventually I found my haappy place in St Lucia with a Charter Boat "San Jan" and Skipper Peter Wise.

Yzerfontein in terms of boating is a 2 tier situation 1) The 3-4 guys on a duck catching kreef , 2) The Commercial fleet looking for Snoek/Yellowtail. I rate Yzerfontein as a ad hoc /opportunistic fishing destination. If you are keen on going out , there are many Charters at not to bad rates doing the CapePoint/Rocky bank area's that are really where you want to be.

Howzit Boys..

Firstly, nothing adhoc about fishing Yzerfontein! Yes there are commercial craft searching the popular snoek fishing areas for snoek, and the fair-weather recreational rubber-duck anglers who only come out to catch crayfish, but then there are many of us who are out super-often looking for other opportunities!!!

Yzerfontein has a boat club with around 95 active members, many of which will be only too happy to help a keen younster out who is desperate for a fishing trip.

I will be only too happy to take you buys out pending what you guys enjoy. Usually going into the December period, we often run out to the deep (Dassendat) in search of Tuna and yellowtail. Last December period we had yfin over 100kG caught and with the numbers presently out there, we are hopefull that we will start getting into some of them once the guys all tow their boats back from Hout Bay.

Next weekend we have our annual Snoek Classic which will have over 300 anglers participating in this event.

Let me know and I will quickly help you out of refer you to someone else who can help.
