I went to kimiad golf course in wekker street and apparently there are bass there I paid R50 just tell them u want to fish and pay a LOCATION FEE they have 3 dams i fished for about 4 hours today and nothing just thought i should share this as it could be a possible location and very close to everyone here in pretoria. I went to struben as well today looks like the bass have just spawned recently the tiny bass are swimming close to the side just wanted to know does this mean the bass will be more or less active thanks

Hi Snyps

Thanx for that info on Kimiad, the same goes for Silverlakes apparently, just I think the only thing is that you can only fish on mondays or tuesdays when they do course maintenance and golfers aren't allowed to play on these days.

Concerning the Struben question, I think they should be on a feeding frenzy if nothing more, as they have chowed for some time now, and with all the ness defending and courtship (foreplay, always thought that was over rated and see ....).

So they should be hungry, but they won't be bound to the nests as some time ago.  Just my thoughts.

Now will be a great time at struben , just fish very slow and that will give great success . . Good luck

For the bass there spinner baits seem to work well and junebug grubs. My word and will that place break u i have caught my pb there 1.3 i no its not that big but i dont get lots of time to fish i fished there often and never caught more than one a time. the day i went with my friend he caught about 5 but slow is the key here u have to have lots of patience. o and the stuff on the bottom of that dam will snag pretty much anything so i wouldnt even recommened letting a crank in there. I caught the 1.3 just after the rain it was very muddy so water clarity will play a part but not a big one those bass can see with their eyes closed :) seeing that thats the way it is most of the time. saw 2 4kg carp pulled out there but never any barble though seen the kurper, and never knew abt the yellows guess i learnt something today :)
