If you own the above rod,how is its casting "wip" action and handling big fish/sharks ability when fighting?

And does it have a smooth action when sliding?

info will be appreciated...

the rod was apparently named after his nickname 'staffie', and yes he does fish with the rod and its a pole!

its not a pole. has more give than the heavy.

he uses the staffie for throw baits....him and alot of people prefer the heavy including myself. also heard issues with breakages but the heavy seems to be the better rod

the extra heavy is 9-10 and the heavy is rated at 6-9

but i have...and witnessed guys throwing an 11 ounce at mazeppa. big baits and there was a huge swell hence us throwing 11s.

the extra heavy is 14ft and the heavy at 13ft...i think the heavy beeing a shorter rod makes it a bit more of a pole than the extra heavy

also its easier throwing a 13ft than a 14 off the rocks.

just find the heavy beeing more versatile. put a trini 50 on with a 10 ounce on the heavy and it handled well.

i have the extra heavy...heavy and med heavy. use the the latter 2 more often.

i think they the best rods on the scene....i have used all (assasins/pentagons etc) and in my opinion the poseiden is lekker

only one left to try is enigmas purglass and from what i hear...might be my new favourite

I have 2 off these rods, they are excellent rods. I use them for throw baits. These rod are rods that you can use for any fishing - sharks & edibles. These rods are not ment for pendulum style casting because it will snap. One thing that is lekker about these rod is when ever it snaps KINGFISHER replaces it with out any problems.

the Staffie is my favorite stick, but i do use the heavy more often as i spend allot of time fishing from the bricks. I prefer the Staffie for beach fishing hence the 14 foot length when we were designing. The heavy is 13'7 which is more suited to rock fishing as the shorter rod allows more pulling power. The Staffie is nice and stiff and can cast anything from a 5 ounce to 10 once sinker, the heavy is more suited to casting 7 to 12 ounce sinkers.

Weren't there issues with the tips on the extra heavy "staffie"(40 ton) and kingfisher were replacing those with the tips from the heavy (36 ton) rods which seem to solve the problem?

Hi guys, you can also get the poseidon extra heavy in a 13"7 then it rates up to a 12 0z.

I brought the extra heavy 13'7 yesterday, fished with it 2day. What a lovely rod!!!!!

As lite as a feather and lovely casting ability.

Slid a "bull mullet" with ease....

Outcome: non return BENT in half.....

Lesson learnt, don't use tooth pick "non returns"!!!!
