dont get to worked up.

This is based on the ilegal harvesting off bait at night
instead of targetting the problem they tried to/suggested a blanket aproach and said ban every type off fishing/harvesting after dark this is as far as i know in proposal status .This is the same as beach driving instead of curbing the problem and solving it every on that use, enjoy or mis use someting is nailed

Thats what we said when they spoke about closing the beaches,we just rolled over and took it like a ...........
We should stand together on stuff like that. The hunters also has major crap with the bunny huggers wanting to ban hunting. Its uneducated people that get to make those kind of verdicts.Sad,like they say,the last time we stood together next to each other was on the ship to St Helena

This is EXACTLY what happens when a FEW anglers think they have the right to decide for many, then to make matters worse u give them a little power and sit back and see what happens !

Understand that FELLOW ANGLERS are recommending all these "changes" to the municipality, who then implement them

If I had the money I would take them to court ! Actually investigating the possibility of constitutional court !

I have the right to fish where I want and when I want without having to belong to any club, and "they" are busy taking that right away from me

Mense met F+'+" beter om te doen nie !

The river will be "closed" for boats at night if u not a member of one of the clubs in swartkops, don't know about fishing from the side, that's probably next

All "non club" slipways will soon be closed between something like 16:00 and 08:00, there are only 5 slipways in swartkops, and 3 of them belong to clubs, the others were all closed a few months ago

Then there is still the 150hp motor power issue aswell

I want to see how they came to the conclusion that the limit is 6m and 150hp and how closing the river at night for non club members will improve anything,

its time that someone really takes them on, and by them I mean NMM, MCM, the swartkops river trust and all their "advisors"

They have really pushed enough now

All this because they only get paid to work 8:00 till 16:30

Find out who makes these laws and negotiate a different deal with them. It's not fair that everyone must get punished an account of the few bad apples causing the problems.

It is a lot easier for them to just make new laws to rule some problems out, but it does affect everyone else. If you can offer a workable solution then you have a winner.

I was no the river last weekend, 2 perlie ducks came past at such a stink spoed, I nealy went overboard! This is proberbly why they want to do this!

How come the perlies can do what they want and not be locked away. we all know who they are, so the powers that be must obviously also know and yet they they go cruising at high speed in the Swartkops???????? we see them come in and load fuel at the closed off jetty's from a bakkie that suddenly appears with tanks of fuel and off they go at high speed to sea again.

They more worried about us as normal fisherman. But like you guys say the dont give a shit about the perlies,so it must be that someone is getting paid to much.Check it out guys they get paid to focus on us(normal fisherman) instead of the perlies,so they do what they want.I wish i could put a whole in those boats..

The problem is everyone is to SH!T scared to stand up to these guys due to thier reputation. How may of them are there compared to us law abiding citizens!!! The reason they have implemented the no 6m and 150hp boats is due to the size boats being used by the perllies which makes our lives hell and we have to suffer the consequences.

I actually saw about an 8m duck with 2 x 200hp come past us the other night. And at one hell of speed causing a 1m wave.Felt sorry for the poor okes in the cabin boat.
They then dropped off "something" at the train bridge and then headed out the mouth again.

Royden you're 100% right that law abiding citizens outnumber the scum, by a very large number. However there are two very big problems none the less.

1) You need to get all the good guys together at one time, sadly this is not so easy. It seems that the bad apples always congregate together, whilst the good guys run around in twos or threes.

2) Even if you got a big group of guys together, as soon as you took any physical action against the scum bags you would then be wrong in the eyes of the law, and when the boys in blue arrived you'd all be in the back of the van.

I really would like to be part of a group that takes on all the illegal guys, because honestly they make things so hard for us, and it's not fair that we suffer regulations set up to stop the bad okes, it's just that by taking action against them, we leave ourselves open to even harsher punishment!

Was fishing at Swartkops last thursday evening when the perlies came in with their 5m duck at high speed (damm those large 4 stroke motors run quietly) They went to the last slipway near the train bridge picked up someone and off they went again. I believe they harvest during the day and anchor the harvest on the sea bed, mark the spot with the GPS and then go out at night to pick it up.Which is what they did on thursday evening I think.:X
