Poppers - continued

This one never came out that well. The glitter line is too straight and there is no straight lines in nature. It also needs a few more coats of clear.

Good stuff.
It really is lekker to have a nice hot boerie roll or burger on the water. especially in summer for those long labourious trolling days.

Cheers

You have some talent man. Sell your business or give it to your wife and just make poppers and lekker stuff for fishing. If you get bored go fishing. Nice stuff man.

Cheers

Oh, I read the second post first. Very neat indeed. I used two pieces of wood glued together with a newspaper page in between. After turning it can be split to insert the metal rod down the middle. Weights can be inserted too and on completion you glue the two pieces together, paint and off you go.

Very good idea that! Post some stuff please!

I'll do so in December when home again. Am at work in Luanda and far from my gear. I lived north of Xai Xai years ago and lost so much gear on the bricks with kingies that I started making my own. Spoons from white metal off railway truck bearings and melted into cement moulds, sanded and shaped was how I started. Progressed to wood and inserted lead weights for the distance. Painting was a mission and never lasted, but the teeth holes and captures made it worthwhile.
