What a pleasure, client phones and tells you what he want's a rod for, colour requirements and one or 2 cosmetic choices and sets the budget

The result

http://www.sealine.co.za/view_topic.php?id=64893&forum_id

First outing and he soon realises why when targeting Giants a Trini 50 should be the reel of choice

I then got this mail that really got me stoked........the rod was blooded and it meets all requirements, swam a bait with it but no callers.....

They got a number of good fish and he got a Bag that almost bent his rod (here 3 guys are on at once -- Gamtoos Surf)

Pringle confirmed receipt of his blank and i just have to rub it in now.............he laughed at me when i told him that if you want to target BIG sharks then you need a Tn 50........

Well in the past 3 weeks he's been spooled 5 times on his Tor 30 and will be well advised to now re-consider the Torium 50 option

Recieved my blank today!!! Super excited! will start the build ASAP and put the rod to work on the next outing. Totally agree with the Trini 50 option, its the way to go!

I was flinging the rod around today and WOW! so light and crazy strong!

Well done on getting into some fish POPEYE!

Thanks for all the help Craig!

Hahaha you beat me to it! will definately go for the 50 now. My poor braid has been taking a beating and ive been towed over rocks and down beaches trying to save it.... and im running out of slides and have very little to show for it.....Groot pak pappa!

But theres new hope with the /8+1 and will INVEST in the 50 no doubt! Still managed to walk away with a smile after each spooling session but don't know how much longer the smiles will last...

@ enigma I thought that Christo's rod was a 400/8+1.

It's all in the linked post

365/8+1 Blank with butting etc is total length 400/ same as Justin's

I still prefer the Absolute shark it has pretty much the same tip action but stiffer mid-section and has the advantage of being multipiece for transport and like with the Purglas /7 and /8 if you're strong enough to cast the bait the rod can handle it, quite literally even a brick

Hi dave

Decided to get 14.6ft t24 /6 bm.
Its is the best allround shark rod from the little research I have done.

Because it is longer and bends more you will have more pulling power. Also I think you will cast big baits further with ease and pull any sharks teeth with setup.

I just hope it does not have the same issues as the purglas that goes pap after a couple of sessions.

Hope this helps your rod choice.
