I have never fished Mamoli Point but am sure it would be productive.
The next point Northwards is Ponta Techobenine(?). If you have ever visited Paindain it will seem familiar. Check the reef out on Google Earth! Its about 1km long protruding NE off the point. Not quite as high as Paindain but the outside of it certainly looks spectacular.
The most effective lure I have used here is the Halco Streaker although I have caught well on dropshot on calm days. A walk up the beach just casting into rips, holes and rocks will yield fish. Concentrate on retrieving as parallel to the shore as possible, just behind shorebreak. I have been amazed to note how big (2kg+) Bastard Mullet like to hang around against the brown water behind the shorebreak. The rips are typically where you'll catch Pompano. Any flat reef in the area will produce Kingies on an incoming tide from about 2 hours before high.
Unfortunately I am quite impatient and have not fished much with bait in the area but have been told that the various species of snapper are suckers for Octopus.
If fishing off a ski, Rapala Super Shad Rap (Fire Tiger) is the only lure you need. I have caught Yellowfin Tuna, Cuda, Kawakawa, Cobia, Remora and Kingfish here on this lure.
