Truth be told...

My son took the boat for the long weekend and i'm stuck "rowing the boat" at work... in JHB...

So, I told him to keep if he is going to eat it or release if its going to be wasted!

So wish I was down there fishing! But, my turn will come :)

Thanks mate!

Its a Conger Eel alright but its skout looks a little sharp for a Cape Conger..........Perhaps its a Natal Conger:fbash:fbash:fbash

If in doubt ask Aquadimentia

Hiya,

Of course I stand to be corrected, but I'm pretty sure it's a Cape Conger.

My first guess was a Moustached Conger, which is pretty common in the area. However, the different coloration, specifically the fins and lack of the of the "moustache" leads me to the conclusion it's a Cape Conger.

Nice specimen! Your son's going to be eating Conger steaks for quite some time!

It's also referred to as Wilson's Conger, this should remove any geographicical ambiguity.
