Please Help

Hi all, please give me your opinions on this possible deal. A collegue of mine wants to sell his two green Loomis & Franklin 13 ft Graphites two piece  together with two Okuma Dyna Drag 40 reels.

He is looking for about a R 1000-00 for the lot and I am considering buying this stuff.

What is the quality of the rods and reels and would it be a good buy.

I am a social carp angler and looking for fishing gear thats not too expensive.

Definitely isn't expensive!

The other day I bought a fly rod for a friend, it was the cheapest available in the shop and it was R350.00, so given your opportunity, I would definitely say it's cheap.

How old is the equipment?

Just to add to that.. you could easily do a Google search to find out what they cost first hand, and then you could search Gumtree to get an idea of what they sell for second hand.

By logical deduction you could determine whether it's a good idea.

ps. Sold just my rods for 1000 bucs.. and they were 4 year  old loomis & F's

Good buy for the price
It will be very hard to find that amount of equipment for that amount of money.
My advice
Ask him if you can use/borrow the tackle and then decid,the best is to get a feel for the rods and reels,and then you will know if it is worth it!

Thanx for the advice guys, decided to go ahead and took the plunge, felt the rods and they feel smooooooth, rods and reels are brand new, no scratches or bumps, can see its only been used once.

Paid R750-00  for the lot, two rods in bags and two reels, filled with new line.

I WANT TO TEST IT NOWWWWW!!

Reality is I am working, any suggestions for a good "picnic spot" to try a bit of fishing except Blaauwpan.
