Miles hit the nail on the head. Uganda also has huge stocks of Goliath Tigers. I remember when Charles Norman was still alive, he used to do guided trips up there. His son in law and I were best mates, WOW some of the stories with pics to back them up!!!!!

He did, passed away after a heart attack.....I think?

I think its his daughter, Kerry-ann Baptista, that now runs his old company.

It most definetly is a Tiger. It would appear as though this fish was not released and that would be a pity. Forget the crocs, at least they will kill you, this mother could remove your manhood!

That Goliath was caught by a local Congolese out of the Upper Kwango river (SW DRC on Angolan border), and said fish passed by the geolgical exploration camp. This was where the then manager - one Kobus and colleages - got those photos. That was at least 2 years back, confirmed by some of the camp workers (one Richard) who was there. Indeed he's in the group in one of the photos. Last year, yet another large goliath was seen by the new camp manager, and he told me it weighed 46.4 kg. Yes this sure is huge, but in line with the weights of the largest goliaths around Kinshasa recorded by Douglas Dann and his mates back in the 1990s (Dann did a book on these fish and his experiences with great pics)
A bookstore in UK has copies: http://www.anglebooks.com

Thats a gold fish that was flushed down the toilette. Trust me, if you spent a couple a days in the pipes, you will look and feel much worse.
